The flight simulator team of the Munich University of Applied Sciences has built a fully functional ‘fixed based’ flight simulator. We use the guidelines of the Luftfahrtbundesamt (NfL II-93/98) in order to make the flight simulator as realistic as possible. Our current flight simulator is based on a cockpit of a glider (ASW-19). The electronic system, display units and controls are connected to some computers which are also used for the simulation software. The screen provides a 160° panorama view. The high quality resolution and the amount of detail create a realistic scenario. We use our own scientific model to calculate the flight characteristics and performance data in order to achieve a realistic flight feeling. For our new flight simulator we modulate the cockpit of a Piper Arrow. Furthermore, we try to simulate unmanned aircrafts using Virtual-Reality cockpits. An overview of our current activities can be found on our current Flyer. This homepages provides pictures and background information of our projects. If you are interested to get a free flight in our simulator, feel free to contact us. Monetary donati ons are also welcomed. You can find our simulator in the R-building of the Munich University of Applied Sciences. |
